Sr. Anne Marie Knawa, Historian of the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago Sister Anne Marie Knawa is the congregation’s historian and has been instrumental in the research, development and creation of the Heritage Hall at Our Lady of Victory Convent in Lemont, Illinois. The research required for the writing of the congregation’s history, As God Shall Ordain, has taken Sister Anne Marie to all the cities and states in which the congregation has ministered as well as to numerous libraries, archives, museums, convents and chancery offices. She has interviewed countless persons. In addition, she has studied all the congregation’s available chronicles, house journals, newsletters, correspondence, administrative records, and proceedings of general chapters. Much of the research material for the book was translated from the Polish by Sister Anne Marie. |
